Here is the job description:-

 

Job Title              :  System Engineer/Admin + Linux

Job Location       :   Irvine, CA

Duration              :  6 months Contract

 

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Engineer solutions to scalability and reliability challenges in applications, services, and systems

·         Diagnose and exterminate - with extreme prejudice - service issues, bottlenecks, and vulnerabilities

·         Proactively identify and improve tools and procedures

·         Document and disseminate expert knowledge to the operations and development teams

·         Don't break stuff

·         Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support production systems and consistently meet or exceed SLA obligations

·         Available for occasional travel

·         Other duties as required

Qualifications

·         5+ years of professional Linux experience

·         2+ years of one or more core technologies: Aerospike, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ is a plus.

·         Working knowledge of a configuration management system such as Chef

·         Up to date on public cloud offerings and solutions

·         Familiarity with networking concepts and administration

·         Available for occasional travel

·         Willing and able to lift 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

·         Experience in a 24/7/365 online service environment

·         Expertise in AWS cloud hosting and hybrid-cloud deployments

·         X-ray vision

·         Advanced knowledge of monitoring solutions

·         Strong scripting (Ruby, Python, bash) knowledge

·         Experience administering Windows Server
