• Layer 1:
  • CWDM concepts;
  • BiDi;
• Layer 2 (Ethernet):
  • IEEE 802.1Q (incl. QinQ);
  • Metro Ethernet and VLAN manipulation;
  • Broadcast domain size reduction methods;
  • Optimizing flooding and FIB utilization;
• Multicast:
  • Packet replication concept;
  • IGMP (Snooping, Proxying);
• Subscriber termination in broadband and mobile networks:
  • AAA;
  • EPC concept, components and interaction with clients;
  • BNG concept, functions and placement in the network;
• IPSec and MACSec:
  • IPSec modes and implications on QoS;
  • MACSec interoperability;
  • Failure modes and its implication;
• NVGRE / VXLAN concept;
• IPv6:
  • SLAAC;

• OSS and Telemetry concepts:
