Take Action

Make the Call to Orange County Commission

It is Urgent.

Your help is needed as soon as possible. Despite a court order, just hours ago the Orange County Commission refused to put an earned sick time initiative on November's ballot. More than 50,000 Orange County voters signed a petition to put this on the ballot, and the commission's action is a blatant attack on our democracy.

There is simply no other word for the behavior of the Orange County Commission.

Yesterday, a 3-judge panel ordered Orange County to place the Earned Sick Time measure on the November ballot, which needs to happen today in order to meet a Federal deadline for printing ballots.

We know this is very short notice, but if possible, please call members of the commission (see phone numbers below) and tell them to do the right thing and put earned sick time on the ballot.

Please make the call.

You can make your voice heard by calling the Commissioners directly in their offices and telling them to respect the will of the 50,000 people who signed the petitions to place the measure on the ballot, and place the measure on the November ballot.

Here are the numbers so you can make the call right now! Leave a message if you don't reach a live person.
  1. Mayor Teresa Jacobs 407-836-7370
  2. District 1 S. Scott Boyd 407-836-7350
  3. District 2 Fred Brummer 407-836-7350
  4. District 3 John Martinez 407-836-5140 or 407-836-5309
  5. District 4 Jennifer Thompson 407-836-7350
  6. District 5 Ted Edwards 407-836-7350
  7. District 6 Tiffany Moore Russell 407-836-5860
We need your voice. Stand up and tell the Commissioners to end the betrayal of democracy and put the Earned Sick Time measure on the November ballot.

In Solidarity,
Denise Diaz
