Please join the Hope CommUnity Center for an evening of Hope and Diversity.
We will showcase the talent and mission of the Hope Center on Saturday March
2 at 7:00 pm at Wekiva High School, 2501 N. Hiawassee Rd., Apopka. The
program will be fun, entertaining and meaningful telling the story of how
Hope builds community and enriches lives through education, advocacy and
spiritual growth. The Hope Center will also award four community leaders the
Hope and Diversity Award. They are Oscar Aguirre, Principal of Lovell
Elementary School; Fr Dick Walsh, Pastor of St. Margaret Mary Catholic
Church in Winter Park; Dora Casanova Nelson, CEO of La Prensa Newspaper and
Kathryn Norsworthy, PhD, professor at Rollins College. This fundraiser is
for the Sister Cathy Gorman Scholarship and College Access Fund. The

Dear PICO Leaders,
We are coming together on Tuesday, March 12th in our state capital to
protect Floridians from harmful policies and to promote economic and social
justice. Through visits with lawmakers and their staffs, we will:
. Stand up for struggling homeowners and advocate for laws to protect future
homeowners.
. Support Medicaid Expansion and health insurance for all families.
. Advocate for in-state tuition for children of parents without legal
immigration status who have grown up in Florida.
. Promote PICO United Florida's positions on various other issues.
