Dear Nico,

Congress is finally moving the Farm Bill toward the finish line. A joint committee with members from both the House and Senate will start negotiating today — and they need to get this law right.

Speak up for food & farming » Our nation's farmers — and eaters! — need a full, fair Farm Bill that fixes outdated farm subsidies, protects natural resources, and invests in a healthier future for us all. Contact Congress today and urge them to get the job done.

Earlier this year, the Senate and House each passed draft versions of the Farm Bill. To date, the process has been astonishingly slow — and full of controversy. It's now time to pass a final version of the bill that keeps and strengthens the best of both drafts.

The final Farm Bill should link crop insurance subsidies with conservation practices — as in years past. It should keep rules in place protecting waterways from pesticide contamination. And it should reinstate a batch of important programs that help farmers protect soil, water and pollinators — and bring healthy, locally grown food to farmers' markets and school children throughout the country.

Tell Congress to get it right » Policies that promote healthy food and farming are important to us all. Let's make this a national priority — and get a strong Farm Bill on the books.

Thank you for speaking up!
