Project Manager III (5-7 Years) Release/Build Management

Location: Ft. Worth (Dallas) TX

Duration: 6 months

 

 

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE MANAGING MULTIPLE INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS AT ONE TIME.

American Airlines (AA) is in need of a Project Manager resource, capable of supporting the various CargInfrastructure implementations for AA. The following are a list of overall skills desired work with CargApplication Development, CargInfrastructure, AA Architecture and Shared Service existing and future Stakeholders:

 

Summary: Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in release management. Responsible for coordinating Release effort amongst various teams (Application Development, Infrastructure Engineers/Build Engineers, QA, Testing, and Business Analysis). Ability to lead and effectively communicate with Engineers, Developers and Managed Service Providers. Quick and creative thinker. Agile and Scrum experience a plus. Strong experience with building strategic relationships and ability remove road blocks through negotiation. PM will not directly manage others and will be a strategic team member. Must be able absorb information quickly, retain information, react calm and think clearly when a release fails, control stressful situations and manage communication leadership. Must be willing support evening implementations.

 

Education/Experience

Bachelor degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.

5-7 years' experience required

 

Responsibility level

Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor

 

Skills

Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention tdetail and interpersonal skills (Required)

Ability to work independently and manage one's time (Required)

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods (Typically required)

 

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Review project plans to plan and coordinate project activity

Coordinating Release effort amongst various teams (Development, QA, Testing, and Business Analysis) in geographically separated environment.

Creation of Release Plan, Definition, collection, analysis & presentation of Release Project Metrics on weekly basis.

Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, tsolicit cooperation and resolve problems

Works with release team to determine an appropriate build schedule.

Holds daily scrum meetings and has experience with agile projects.
