Job Title: Performance Engineer with Hadoop
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 6+Months

Skills:

· Hands on experience with Hive and Performance tuning

· In depth understanding of partitioning/bucketing

· In depth Knowledge of reducer size/block size optimization

· Must have in depth understanding of ORC, Parquet – file formats, different types of compressions, optimizing JOINs

· Skilled in Unix/Linux environment with the ability to write bash or shell or Python scripting is necessary. Comfortable with tools like ftp/scp etc

· Knowledge of other industry ETL tools (including No SQL) such Cassandra/Drill/Impala/etc. is a plus

· Experience working in Agile software development model preferred

· Must be a self-starter, able to deliver high-quality work with minimal oversight

· Excellent communication, problem solving, and analytical skills, and a high degree of self-motivation.

Nice to have:

· Experience on MapR

· Strong knowledge of Spark on either Python or Scala

· Proficiency in these ETL tools is a plus: Informatica BDE, Pentaho, Mule, Talend

· NoSQL data modeling techniques
