Position: Network Security Engineer – Juniper/ Firewall

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Duration: 10+ month/ Contract

Interview: Phone and In Person

Job Description:

 

Responsibilities:

This individual will be working in a very agile, high-availability Service Provider environment. This candidate will be responsible for analyzing, conducting risk assessments, configuring, and implementing firewall change requests within group SLAs. Responsibilities will include collaborating with business owners and X1 developers to best secure the network, without unnecessarily impeding development. Daily tasks may include incident response, monitoring, investigation, project implementation, and operational support. This position is onsite at the center city Philadelphia location; telecommuting is not an option.

Provides expert technical advice and counsel to management and mentors to less experienced firewall engineers. Assesses change implementation options, benefits and risks, and determines the most appropriate solution. Team-focused individual who steps in to assist when and where needed.

•          Extensive experience managing and maintaining enterprise class Juniper SRX Firewalls and Checkpoint experience is a plus.

•          Experience with management and support of Cisco Sourcefire IDS.

•          Expert knowledge of routing, NAT, and TCP/IP networking.

•          Expert understanding of risk assessment and delivery of specific technical solutions for change requests.

•          Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical abilities including packet capture analysis.

•          Technical problem solving across multiple technologies.

•          Ability to deal with changing priorities and multi-task several projects.

Must Have:

•          Approximately 5-7 years' experience with 1 or more in a senior role.

•          Juniper Firewalls (Netscreen, SRX)

•          Configuration, installation, and upgrading of Juniper firewalls hardware and software

•          Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux CLI

Preferred skills:

•          IDS (Cisco Sourcefire)

•          Vulnerability assessments (Nessus, Qualys, etc.).

•          RSA SecurID manager

•          Checkpoint Firewalls, including IPSO/SPLAT/GAIA

•          Configuration and installation of checkpoint management stations and firewalls

•          Scripting languages

•          IPv6

•          Approximately 5-7 years' experience with 1 or more in a senior role.

Preferable Certifications for Network Security Engineer Position:

•          JNCIS-SEC/JNCIS-FWV

•          SFCE

•          CCSA/CCSE
