Position: Cognos Developer w/ Tableau
Location: Reston, VA
Duration: 6+ Month/ Contract
Interview: Phone and In Person
Must be USC, GC or EAD- GC
We're looking for someone with 5-10 years' experience in Cognos and 2-3 in Tableau.
Primary Responsibilities and Required Skills:
• Analytics Experience with Cognos and Tableau
o Design, implement and maintain analytics and reporting applications
o Expertise with analytics in the areas of dynamic reports, dashboards, drill downs, visualizations, etc.
o Participate in data governance for HHMI's core source and target systems to ensure analytics and reporting requirements can be met
o Serve as a technical resource for other members of IT in ensuring that data processing standards, guidelines and procedures are followed
• ETL and Data Management Skillsets in the Cognos Suite and Oracle ODI
o Design, implement and maintain required interfaces to data sources
o Manage the ETL and publishing process required within the data warehouse environment
o Assist with data modeling and query tuning to achieve maximum performance while retrieving data
o Thoroughly assess, analyze, troubleshoot, debug and resolve moderate to highly complex, analytic and data management problems
· Develop and maintain operational and system level documentation
· Provide technical expertise and guidance to functional user community
· Cognos Solution Suite Expertise in the following areas:
o Data Manager
o Framework Manager
o Report Studio
o Query Studio
o Analysis Studio
· Café
Required Experience:
· Extensive analytics experience with Cognos and Tableau
· ETL and data management skillset in Oracle ODI
· Cognos end-to-end lifecycle
Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related field
