Hello Fellow Florida Activist,
I hope everyone is doing well and 2014 is off to a great start!
I wanted to send everyone an update on the state conference. We were unable to secure the needed space at the University of South Florida. However, we have been able to secure space at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. With this change, we needed to change the date as well. The conference will now be on Saturday, February 22nd.
Here’s some additional information…
We’ll be in the Health and Public Affairs Building, Room 119. Parking Lot D1 is right in front of the building and parking is free on Saturday. There will be signs and UCF students to help guide attendees to the right place. Check in will begin and 9am and our program will being at 930am. Please register online at www.AmnestyOrlando.org and click on the donate button on the main page. The registration cost is $10 for students and seniors and $15 for all other attendees. The registration fee will cover the cost of lunch for everyone. Please register early so we are able to determine an accurate lunch count.
Please remember, our state conference is not only for Amnesty International members. It is open to all activists in the community that are passionate about making a positive change in the world, so please send this invitation to other folks in you network. Also, if you belong to another organization that is involved in human rights or social justice work….let us know! You’re welcome to set up an information table during the conference to share your organizations work.
As plans start to solidify, I will send updates. As always, please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Alicia Koutsoulieris
