Title: SQL BI Developer
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 6+ months
Interview: Phone + In-Person Need Locals
Key Responsibilities Include:
1) 5+ years of hands-on experience on SQL Server 2005/2008/2012
2) Expertise in designing and maintaining SQL Server databases while ensuring their performance, availability and internal/external security
3) Expertise in Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and reporting
4) Expertise in creating and fine tuning SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and functions
5) Strong background in data extraction (SQL), manipulation of raw data (ETL), data relationships, data mining, ad-hoc analysis and metrics presentations
6) Experience in developing small to medium scale web applications using .NET/PHP
7) Working knowledge of JavaScript/jQuery, AJAX is preferred
8) Meet with stakeholders to gather and document requirements to ensure development work meets business objectives.
9) Advanced to expert level abilities in data analysis software like Excel, Access
Must also be willing to:
- Proactively communicate with team members in a collaborative environment to understand project requirements
- Problem solving and multi-tasking with a high level of pro-activeness in a fast-paced environment
- Go an extra mile to understand business requirements, impact and willing to come up with new and innovative ideas to make business processes more efficient, automated and simple.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering, Masters is a plus.
- Experience with interactive data visualization/dashboard tools with data accessed from an enterprise data warehouse.
- Databases - SQL Server 2005/2008/2012, Oracle and Access.
- Microsoft related Business Intelligence tools, specifically SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS
- Web Technologies - ASP.net, PHP, Java scripting, HTML, XML, CSS, and Jquery.
- Hands on experience with BI tools and data visualization like Business objects, Tableau is preferred
- Good Written and Verbal communication
- Demonstrated and proficient level of problem solving
- Excellent team and interpersonal skills
- Self-directed and team-oriented
