IT Business Systems Analyst Level 3 – Commercial / Trade Promotion Management(TPM)

Duration: Long Term

Position Overview: Business Analyst III

The IT Business System Analyst is responsible for implementing business driven systems for the Commercial function (Consumer and Industrial businesses) within Client. Most of these systems will be packaged solutions which may be integrated with Clients  SAP ERP.  This role serves as the primary IT contact for Client business partners in the Commercial process area. The analyst will work with business users to define scope and objectives for system solutions, as well as work with various IT teams needed for implementation.   

 

Client's US Consumer division is currently beginning a TPM implementation project in the US. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

·        Commercial function and application expertise:

o   Providing business analysis and process (re)design expertise in one or more functional areas within the enterprise specifically in the analysis, and (re)design of Commercial functions and processes, initially specializing in Trade Promotion Management.

o   Discovering and communicating capabilities/possibilities within TPM application and within the Commercial IT space in general

o   Leading constant improvement opportunities and appropriately challenging processes to ensure global consistency for Commercial across business units

o   Developing and retaining relevant Commercial application skills (TPM, SAP, SFDC, etc.) – including participating in user groups, training, conferences and professional associations

o   Knowledge of peer companies and of the business strategy; translating long-term objectives into practical solutions; networking and benchmarking to gain insights into the potential use of new tools, processes and techniques

 

·        Trade Promotion Management implementation project and on-going support:

o   Any and all IT aspects of a project, both for TPM or other Commercial projects or scoping efforts, including:

§  project management throughout project lifecycle, business design sessions, process analysis, requirements elicitation and documentation, cost/effort estimation, IT design, IT functional specifications, RFP's, configuring packaged solutions, defining security requirements, collaboration and activity integration with other IT areas, unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing and monitoring, developing training materials, delivering training, cutover, application deployment, go-live support and stabilization

§  monitoring and reporting to management on the status of project efforts, anticipating/identifying issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals and implementing corrective actions

o   Interface with business partners to translate requirements into application functionality

o   Build TPM roadmap to integrate additional countries and business strategies and initiatives

o   Point of contact to manage system failure prevention, system problem calls and user inquiries, including regular system maintenance and support which will require some evening, weekend and on-call support

o   Recommend new functionality and enhancements within TPM application and devise/modify procedures to solve business problems

o   Propose TPM application architecture to ensure alignment with Client's environment

 

·        General responsibilities:

o   Foster and maintain good relationships with customers and IT colleagues to meet expected customer service levels

o   First level contact with the business for any inquiries including systems support, improvement analysis, and advice

o   Strong communication skills and proven ability to build and maintain relationships with executive leadership

o   Troubleshoot complex business and technical problems, assisting with interface failure troubleshooting and resolution coordination

o   Lead small sub-projects and coach other project personnel to ensure business application systems are developed in a way that complies with architectural standards, established methodologies and accepted best practices

o   Estimate work effort for assigned projects, system enhancements and support tasks, create business cases

o   Develop standards and procedures

o   Prepare business and functional specifications pertaining to Commercial systems' transaction, logic or reporting functionality

o   Cross train other associates

o   Support Commercial  and SAP system upgrades and life cycle management

o   Some domestic/international travel may be required


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Supply Chain, or related field preferred

 

Professional and Technical Experience Required:

·        5+ years of Information Technology experience (Commercial IT experience preferred)

  • 3+ years of experience with a TPM solution, with an emphasis on design, configuration and troubleshooting; experience with TPM linked SAP ERP and BW strongly preferred

·        Full life cycle systems Integration project management or lead functional consultant experience

·        Strategic insight into IT's role in supporting Commercial business processes and strategies

·        Creative and innovative thinker in leveraging existing technology and simplifying the IT development landscape

  • Experience with structured project management discipline

 

Professional and Technical Experience Preferred:

·        Business process consulting in the Consumer Products industry specifically in Commercial areas (Trade Promotion Management, Trade Promotion Optimization, Pricing, Sales Force Automation, Retail Execution and/or Direct Store Delivery)

  • In-depth knowledge of process analysis, functional and system requirement definitions, and solution design
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and provide accurate time and cost estimate to resolve the problem and perform release activities
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships (peer, leadership, customer, external).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and relationship building
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions within established guidelines and policies
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to explain technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others and fosters understanding
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to adapt to changes and resolve conflict
  • Ability to design and recommend application strategy on a large scale, multi-country environment.
