Job title: Oracle DBA

Location: Albany, New York

Duration: 1 Year

 

Responsibilities:

·         Installing, upgrading, and patching Oracle Database software in an IBM AIX environment with RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Enterprise Manager, and GoldenGate.

·         Creating Oracle databases.

·         Developing and testing a backup and recovery strategy, backing up Oracle databases regularly, and recovering them in case of failures.

·         Configuring the network environment to enable clients to connect to databases.

·         Starting up and shutting down the database.

·         Managing storage for the database.

·         Managing users and security.

 

Skills Needed

·         84+ months of experience creating, installing, upgrading, and patching Oracle 10g or higher Database software in a Unix-like environment (e.g. AIX) using Maximum Availability Architecture  (MAA).  This must include all of: Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.

·         84+ months of experience using RMAN for backup and recovery of Oracle databases in a MAA environment

·         84+ months of experience monitoring and tuning databases using Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g or higher or Oracle Cloud Control

·         84+ months of experience investigating, gathering diagnostic data for, and reporting to Oracle Support Services any critical database errors.

·         Oracle 10g or higher Certified Professional (OCP) certification.

·         Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related field.

·         24+ months of experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c (experience with prior versions of OEM will not be counted.)

·         24+ months of experience with Oracle 10g or higher GoldenGate.
