Sr. Front End Developer UI/UX w/Angular JS
Location: Chicago land, IL
Duration: 16-17 months
Client :Capital One
Responsibilities:
- Utilize Lean and Agile methodologies to deliver unique customer experiences for national businesses that serve tens of millions of customers
- Collaborate on UX strategy for prototyping and pilot efforts
- Translate UX and business requirements into elegantly coded solutions
- Code daily in Angular JS
- Partner with Design, Product and Engineering to turn prototypes into production quality code
- Integration of front end assets to back end/production-level systems
- Develop responsive and adaptive components and libraries
- Effectively communicate technical standards
- Work as part of a dynamic team throughout the software development life cycle
- Collaborate with back end developers and product owners to implement enhancements or new applications
- Develop designs to meet story acceptance criteria
- Conduct design and code review to ensure compliance with standards
- Estimate level of effort to develop new design solutions
- Ensure adherence to continuous improvement practices as required to meet quality/time to market imperatives
- Share best practices and improve processes within and across sprint teams and mentor more junior team members
Requirements:
- Expert skills with semantic and accessible HTML
- HTML5, CSS, SCSS
- Expert JavaScript skills with the Angular JS Framework
- Expert skills with CSS and cross browser compatibility issues
- Intermediate to expert skills with Responsive/Adaptive web design and responsive cross browser issues
- Clear understanding of ARIA and ADA guidelines
- Integrate with restful APIs
- Familiarity with mobile best practices
- Basic Photoshop skills
- High School diploma, GED, equivalent certification or military experience
- At least 5 years experience in software development
- At least 1-2 years of experience in Angular JS
Additional Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience building responsive and retina friendly images
- 1 year experience mentoring or training Junior developers
- MVC architecture
- User Centered Design Principals
- Strong experience with Agile (Scrum) and Lean practices
- Demonstrable past experience architecting componentized and scalable front end platforms
- Experience in building responsive websites using bootstrap, foundation, pure, skeleton, gumby, etc.
- Knowledge of modern build systems, task runners & package managers like Grunt, Gulp, Bower, npm etc.
- Knowledge of test frameworks and technologies like Jasmine, Karma, Protractor
- Usability, Accessibility, Internationalization, Portability, Security and Visual Design Experience
- Ability to tackle tasks and issues that will often not be well defined, and to bring forth new, creative ideas
