1. We are seeking a systems analyst with 6 plus years of experience. Must have a strong financial services background.
2. Analytical rigor: We are seeking an analyst with strong analytical capability. Able to work with large volumes of data, able to problem solve. Able to write clear, concise and complete functional specifications.
3. Benchmark domain knowledge. The role will be focused on Benchmarks, and baseline of domain knowledge is required, as well as comfort in working with benchmark data to drive quality. Experience with Rimes would be a big +.
4. Communication skills. This is an internal client facing role and strong communication and relationship skills are needed.
5. 5Technical skills - Must be strong with SQL - ability to write queries
6. Organization. The role is in a fast moving environment and an ability to be organized and proactively follow-up is a must to operate effectively.
The team is looking to review its existing benchmark platform in order to streamline and monitor the process so that investors are getting accurate data in an efficient and expedient way
Overview
This individual will be responsible for requirements, systems analysis and testing supporting the Performance and Benchmarks business group. The group is responsible for investment performance measurement, performance attribution, benchmark setup and maintenance and providing support to the investment teams.
This position requires a high level of direct interaction with business users as well as excellent communication and delivery. The candidate should have benchmark domain knowledge from another asset manager or financial services firm, be comfortable operating with data, and have previously worked in or supported an investment operations business group.
Responsibilities
The Senior Systems Analyst will have the following responsibilities:
• Act as product owner for the portfolio of Benchmarks related technology
• Act as steward for benchmark data, driving data quality, methodologies and automation. In addition, interact with investment professionals and business partners to proactively identify opportunities for better and more complete benchmark data
• Collaborate with business partners understand business workflows in detail, and prioritize support/enhancement needs
• Challenge the status quo and proactively seek opportunities for new or improved systems. Produce functional specifications for new systems and enhancements
• Provide ongoing support including research & resolution of issues, issue tracking and status reporting
• Plan and perform functional testing of new systems and enhancements
Qualifications
• A minimum of 6 years of work experience in a financial services technology environment
• Demonstrable understanding of benchmark concepts and data
• Strong understanding of investment processes, securities, analytics and market data
• Experience in middle office processes for an asset manager or financial services firm
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently as an individual contributor as well as a strong team player
• Strong understanding and experience with SQL with an ability to perform data analysis and troubleshooting
• Strong client relationship, communication and analytical skills
• Change agent, creative, innovative and focused on continuous improvements
• Demonstrated analytical experience on new systems build-outs as well as on enhancements to existing systems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related discipline
