Position: Oracle DBA
Location: Richfield,, MN, United States
Length: 6 Month Contract (High Potential To Extend Long Term)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Maintain the entire database environment with appropriate software, monitoring, on-call support, SQL optimization, disaster recoverability, and troubleshooting.
• Assist with the architecture of the databases and system environment.
• Proactive remediation and on-call support of any database related issue and assist in diagnosing database connected applications, including off-hours, late-night, and weekends.
• Performance monitoring and tuning of Oracle systems and SQL queries.
• Facilitate the improvement of system and database security on the company's servers to minimize unauthorized use and damage to our assets. Ensure the database environment and procedures conform to all of the company's policies as it relates to information security and operational effectiveness.
• Continue to develop the team's technical implementation related to high availability and business continuity preparedness; DR site testing, replication, log shipping, DR dump and loads, documentation, etc.
• Review database software and data administration industry standards, and ensure the team's work is in compliance with the standards.
• On a recurring basis, review the capacity, performance and security of the databases and make recommendations for enhancements to ensure business needs are met.
• Write SQL code, unit tests and functional tests in an Agile, and Test Driven Development environment
MUST HAVE
• 5 or more years of cumulative experience supporting Oracle 9, 10 & 11g,
• 3 years or so of open source and MySQL DB
• 3 or more years of experience using Reporting Services (server-side support, report design and deployment)
• 2 or more years experience with data modeling tools, designing and architecting database models/schema
NICE TO HAVE
• 2+ years experience in eCommerce and/or retail industries
• Certifications preferred = Oracle Certified Database Administrator
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate confidently with all levels of management
• Deep knowledge of SQL performance tuning techniques, high availability, disaster recovery, and security skills.
