Tomorrow:
Florida Modern Day Slavery Museum
Please join the Coalition of Immokalee Workers for a special exhibit documenting the phenomenon of modern slavery in Florida's tomato fields and current campaigns for a more just and sustainable agro-food system.
"There are 27 million slaves in the world today and this eye-opening exhibit makes it patently clear that some of them are harvesting the crops we eat today. The Immokalee Coalition reveals the horrific conditions experienced by a few and the terrible conditions endured by the many. Anyone interested in the Sunshine State's real history should see this rolling museum."
Free and open to
the public!
WHEN: Friday, Jan. 25, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
WHERE: Rollins College,
Knowles Chapel Lawn/Holt Avenue
Hosted by the Department of Environmental Studies and the Office of Multicultural Affairs
