{PBJFlorida} Vigil Today: Knights in Solidarity with Aleppo University Students

Good morning PB&J! Praying you and your families are all doing well in every way.

Today, there will be a vigil at the UCF Reflection Pond area for the students that were killed in last week's Aleppo University bombing in Syria.

Knights in Solidarity with Aleppo University Students
UCF Reflection Pond Free Speech area, 5:55pm-6:30pm

On January 15th, the University of Aleppo in Syria was bombed as students were taking their first round of final exams. This is not an event for political debate; rather, this is a vigil for the students who lost their lives. What was their crime? Seeking knowledge.

We ask that you all come out and join us in solidarity with Syria and our fellow students who lost their lives. As students, we often take our blessings of safety and peace on our campus for granted, but maintaining life is a day to day struggle in Syria. Please come if you believe that no one has the right to bomb a university, kill students, or target them during war.

Everyone is welcome to attend! PLEASE spread the word to your friends, families, classmates, and organizations. Bring candles, posters, flags, and whatever else you'd like to use to show your support for the students who were martyred.

It is our duty to be their voice.

Plan:
-Gather at the Free Speech Lawn a little before 6pm (next to the Reflection Pond)
-6pm, a whistle will be blown
-A brief explanation will be provided of how they died
-The names of the martyrs will be read aloud
-Candles will be lit
-Disperse.

Hope to see you there. Peace to you all,
