Senior Project Manager – Contract to Perm Hire
This Senior Project Manager position will require communication between business areas, vendors, and IT staff. The candidate must be driven, results oriented, able to work/facilitate several groups within assigned project, have a strong customer service attitude and capable of handling multiple situations in a fast paced environment, have the ability to track issues and daily tasks and escalate to management as needed. Manage stakeholder expectations, communications, and coordinate deliverables between technology and business teams, inter-relationships and dependencies between multiple, projects, and/or applications, including multiple and often conflicting priorities and information. A proven ability to maintain focus on the "goal".
This position will require the following skills and responsibilities:
1. Minimum Years of experience needed for required skills: 7
2. Experience as a project manager in an IT environment.
3. Candidate will have in-depth knowledge of PMI processes
4. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
5. Candidate will have experience working in a Project Management Office within an organization.
6. Verifiable experience in setting into operation disciplines, developing processes, standards, and best practices of a PMO.
7. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project Server 2007/2010.
8. Excellent written and oral communication skills
9. Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
10.Excellent PC skills
11.Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills
12.Knowledge of SDLC, and various development methodologies
13.Demonstrated consulting, influencing, and negotiating skills
14.Participate in scope and requirements meetings with business customers, and take the lead in defining and communicating final decisions to all parties
15.Create and manage project plans, identify necessary resources, and execute project management tasks throughout the life of a project
16.Continuously re-evaluate project status, identify issues and risks, and provide recommendations for resolution and escalate when necessary
17.Maintain steady communication with development and/or analytical staff, business customers and management on all projects
18.Provide project status to stakeholders
19.Proven business analysis and problem-solving abilities
20.Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
21.Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Preferred Skills:
1. Proven prior experience as a successful project manager assigned to large scale, Department-wide, IT related implementations, such as Application replacements or COTs package implementations, typically with large budgets and geographically dispersed staff, focused on meeting project commitments, including communications with sponsors and stakeholders.
2. Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology related field from an accredited college or university.
OTHER NOTES:
· DOR will conduct a background check on all candidates considered for the position. Individuals must be compliant with Georgia tax obligations.
· Individuals having any overdue and unpaid taxes or any felony convictions (no matter how long ago) will not be offered the position or hired.
