Senior SAS Advanced Programmer
Location: St. Louis, MO
3 – 6 months duration :
Skills/Knowledge
· High level of familiarity with complex databases, including indexing, key variables, table structure, table interrelationships, data types, etc. Must also have knowledge of longitudinal datasets and their use as input to time-series modeling/forecasting analysis.
· Prefer familiarity with complex billing databases such as CSS (Customer One) and their structures
· Competent SAS programmer with demonstrated knowledge of common programming techniques such as performing merges, using procs, formatting data, restructuring datasets, importing external files into datasets, exporting datasets to external files, etc.
· Competent SQL programmer able to use Proc SQL
· Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, pivot tables
· Ability to write complex SAS queries involving multiple database tables
· Ability to prepare complex datasets for further analysis
· Familiarity with basic data mining techniques, inferential statistics and predictive modeling (Enterprise Miner)
· Good communicator, can follow complex instructions to quickly accomplish assigned data preparation tasks
Activities
· Quickly become familiar with client's billing system and other customer databases after on-boarding process
· May be required to undergo security screening
· Develop and execute complex queries on databases involving multiple tables to extract mailing lists in support of client's direct mail advertising campaigns.
· Extract data from billing and other systems to support propensity and segmentation modeling such as for client's Alert campaigns and E-customer profiles
· Develop queries required to support analysis of customer credit performance, for example data to be used for modeling the probability of an account being written off after it has entered active collections
· Support predictive modeling and inferential analysis of complex data under direct supervision of Customer Experience Analytics Supervisor
