Embedded Engineer
Location – Germantown, MD
Duration: 6+ months
Rate ::$50/hr
Phone Interview
Must Have:
· Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering, preferably Electronics or Computer Engineering, with 9+ years' of experience in embedded software development
· Strong experience in embedded C and Linux OS (min. 3 years of development experience on Linux based embedded projects)
· Strong work experience with SCM, software change management, continuous integration and automated unit testing processes
· Knowledge of C++
Other Desirable/Preferred skills:
· Experience with CAN and Ethernet protocols
· Experience working with digital video recording systems
· Hands on experience testing/debugging software, firmware and electronic control systems
· Experience with board initialization and low level software for more than one of the following microprocessors: ColdFire, Geode, 68HC12, Z80 Atmel AT Mega and 8535 family, 8051, x86
· Familiarity with the following development environments: GNU, Code Warrior, IAR Embedded Workbench, AVR Studio, Cosmic, Visual studio
· Experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum and TDD in an embedded environment desired
· Effective communication skills; ability to articulate clearly and concisely
· Knowledge of safety critical software or CENELEC standards and rail industry is a plus
