Role: BI Engineer 

Location:  Mountain View, CA

Type: 12 months+  or Fulltime with GL

​JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

·               Build, optimize and maintain a robust BI data infrastructure based on industry best practices to support the global SMB organization.

·               Design, develop and support next-generation data delivery web applications, dashboards and visualizations, serving the needs of our full range of end users, from representatives on the sales floor to the executive leadership team.

·               Perform code reviews and unit test all delivered solutions.

·               Shape and drive the tactical and strategic development of BI infrastructure including the data warehouse, reporting and analytical platforms.

·               Self-manage at a project level by planning development tasks and executing against schedule.

 

REQUIRED:

·               2 years of experience using SQL for data extraction and ETL across standard commercial databases (e.g Oracle, Teradata, MySQL etc).

·               1-year of experience in web development or OO-based development, and experience with the MVC design pattern.

·               Experience with developing on Unix/Linux platforms.

PREFERRED

·               Hands-on experience with advanced SQL constructs and development on web-scale databases, Hadoop, or NoSQL technologies.

·               Extensive web development experience with core web UI technologies – HTML, CSS, JaveScript (AngularJS, D3), App Engine.

·               Strong OO skills in Python or Java (or similar language), including server-side web development.

·               Fast and agile at prototyping fully functional web-based user interfaces on real data

·               Passion for user interface design and data visualization; Knowledge of commercial and emerging reporting tools and technologies.

·               Strong collaboration, communication and presentation and sales skills.
