The mix of languages used in these projects includes VBScript, VB.net, C# and JavaScript. The primary responsibility of this role will be handling trouble tickets submitted by users of the applications we maintain. Additional responsibilities include communicating with end users to validate bugs and understand usage scenarios, checking code in and out of our source control repository, and building new applications to provided requirements when necessary. We have legacy applications which are still maintained in classic ASP, with a large amount of JavaScript to provide client-side functionality, so familiarity working with those technologies is critical.

The successful candidate shall have expert proficiency with classic ASP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, as well as advanced proficiency developing .NET applications (ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, ADO.NET, SOAP, Web Services, etc.) using Object Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts. This candidate should also have an ability to write simple to moderately complex SQL (T-SQL) stored procedures, as well as experience working with Microsoft SQL Server. In addition, they should have extensive experience building .NET applications using Microsoft development tools (Visual Studio), as well as experience working with source control repositories. Familiarity with the development project lifecycle (SDLC) is preferred.

ASP Application Development
The successful candidate shall have a minimum of 4 years' experience with web-application development using Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP), ADO, VB Script and JavaScript. Candidate must possess the ability to quickly assess an existing application development framework, work with project leadership to architect required modifications and/or upgrades, and then work with peer developers to complete the necessary project work. Must have extensive experience migrating embedded business logic into managed server objects, as well as moving embedded SQL Queries into stored procedures and/or managed server objects.

.NET Web Application Development
The successful candidate shall have at least 2 years of practical experience developing within the Microsoft .NET Framework in a manner consistent with Object Oriented Programming (OOP) principles. The candidate shall be experienced in utilizing ASP.NET, ADO.NET, C#, VB.NET, SOAP, JavaScript and MS SQL Server technologies. The candidate shall have experience developing web-based data management applications that include configurable business logic, process, and workflow automation. Practical experience developing and consuming modern web services is a plus.

Required Specialty Skills
Emphasis shall be placed on those candidates with superior user-interface design and layout skills using ASP, ASP.NET and ASP.NET MVC. Expert level of HTML, CSS and Javascript is assumed.

The ASP/ASP.NET Web Developer shall work closely with the project development manager, as well as with the peer developers. The successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively as a team during the design phase, yet work independently and proactively through the development phase. This role must possess excellent communications skills, including the ability to work with end-users to understand project requirements and usage scenarios. An ability to break down complex problems and provide simple solutions will receive top priority.

The contractor must pass a criminal background check, which includes fingerprinting. Please inform all potential candidates of this requirement before submitting resumes for consideration.
