If you are interested in helping SEIU, Florida New Majority, or FOCUS to get a large voter turnout, please respond to this email.
The aim is to get people to their polling places on Saturday, October 27 (the first day of early voting), on Sunday, October 28 (the only "Souls to the Polls" day for this election), Saturday, November 3 and on Tuesday, November 6th (election day). Good networkers are needed who connect with others who will then be the people who make sure the people around them are informed and that they get to the polling place to vote. In general, anyone who wants to get involved should expect to be asked to participate in the following activities:
> Voter Outreach and Voter Education
> We need people who can provide voters the information they need to make wise voting decisions, including:
> --- what precinct are they in...
> --- what districts are they in...
> --- who are the candidates...
> --- what are the issues...
> --- is their voter information accurate with the Supervisor of Elections Office...
> --- when will they vote...
> --- where will they vote...
> --- do they need a ride to their polling place...
> Voter Protection
During early voting and on election day, organized groups from around the country will come to Florida to confuse and intimidate voters. To prevent this from happening, we'll need teams of people in precincts in and around Sanford, Orlando, and Kissimmee. We'll need people monitoring their own neighborhoods looking for any effort to spread misinformation, we'll need to equip them to provide their friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers with quality information, and when voting begins on Saturday, October 27, we'll need them to spend at least part of their day(s) observing activities around the polling places to guarantee that every voter is free to cast his or her ballot without interference.
