Re: {PBJFlorida} Digest for pbjflorida@googlegroups.com - 3 Messages in 2 Topics

AA ya'll, I tend to agree with Penny. So many people seem to want to be in the light but not grubbing in the dirt. If everyone does a little piece, the pieces add up. There is a local program called Home Instead for home bound seniors who can not afford nursing homes, etc., I took four of the names off the tree at Walgreens and put together practical needs for them, but sure was distraught to see how many tags were left when I took them back. We are quick to drop off a toy or a can of food, but when it requires extra effort it tends to get a bit stickier.

Also, it sickens me to see we have to have yet another incident of lunacy (tginM) to bring up the question of controlling automatic weapons. Having lived where there was gun control and open, democratic government, and seen nearly zero crime rate....well, I am sorry, the NRA people and Charlton Heston do not get my vote. It can and does work. It is very scary that WalMart reports their highest percentage increase in their history on gun and ammo sales since the election. That means that a lot more lunatics are out there preparing to take on the rest of the planet that does not look like them, agree with them, or they are too immature to deal with in general.

The mom of the killer had recently purchased five weapons and had them in her home, so it will be interesting to see what, if anything, comes out about the real conflicts and issues that led to this horrible massacre. Every country in the world that has allowed their children to become body armour and cannon fodder has fallen...

Praying for the families and small town of the Conn shootings,
Amira

Thanks Jim and all. This is a great article and I know how right she is. But I feel very frustrated that smart people who know the situation just sit around and exchange good articles and tsktsk about it.
Sorry for my bah humbug attitude but
I want some ideas with action or plan.

The victims are getting younger. America does not lead the world in education but it does lead the world in killing its young students. How much longer do we remain silent?
