I promise this is the last action we ask you to do for our campaign to defeat SB 58. Today is the last day of the Florida legislative session, meaning, today is the last day that any proposed laws can be passed in Florida this year. If we continue our pressure in the next few hours, we will defeat this discriminatory bill. To learn more about this bill, click here.
Yesterday was a dramatic day that gave us a clear preview of where all the senators stand on SB 58. Because of the sneaky way this bill was brought to the floor, bypassing its final committee stop in the senate, it now requires a two-thirds majority vote or 26 out of the 40 Florida Senators would have to vote for "yea".
The good news is, as of yesterday the bill is ONE VOTE SHORT of a two-thirds majority, with 25 senators supporting it.
The bad news is, the bill's sponsors have till the end of the session today, to convince ONLY ONE MORE senator to switch from "nay" to "yea".
NOT TAKING ANY CHANCES
We're happy about the position we're in, but we're not taking any chances. As long as SB 58 is still on the floor calendar (placed on 3rd reading), we can't afford to let our guard down or start celebrating. We've worked too hard the past 3 months to let it all fizzle away now.
SO TODAY'S GAME PLAN: TURN-UP THE HEAT AND KILL THE BILL
Please do the following two action items AGAIN TODAY:
1. CALL THE BELOW NINE SENATORS, TELL THEM TO OPPOSE SB 58.
2. TWEET SENATORS, USE THIS PAGE TO POST ONE-CLICK TWEETS.
3. CLICK HERE TO EMAIL THE SENATE LEADERSHIP.

"I URGE SENATOR _________ TO OPPOSE SB 58, "APPLICATION OF FOREIGN LAW" BY SENATOR ALAN HAYS. IT'S ANTI-SEMITIC, ANTI-MUSLIM, ANTI-AMERICAN AND WILL HURT FLORIDA BUSINESS."
