Duration: 6+ Months

 

Job Description:

 

• Plan, install, build, manage, support, configure and test Weblogic infrastructure components and connectivity

• Identify requirements needed to operate infrastructure components

• Provide primary Weblogic administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of the web environment and performance issues

• Perform 24x7 on call duties on a rotation basis with the other Weblogic administrators

• Install, administer, monitor, support and secure the Weblogic environment and be able to take proactive corrective action.

• Configure WebLogic Server's authentication provider, Backup and restore a WebLogic Server domain, Create a WebLogic Server domain, Create and configure a WebLogic Server cluster.

• Support multiple WebLogic 11g Servers and J2EE applications in a HA ( Highly Available) environment

• Perform and automate and manual application deployments

• Install and configure Grid Infrastructure, Upgrade or patch the Grid Infrastructure environment.

• Key participant in the ongoing design, implementation, configuration, optimization, and support of large scale, complex Middleware solutions

• Perform scheduled maintenance. Patching and security compliance

• Work with developers and operational staff to provide solutions that fit within the constraints of the environment

• Provide off-hours on call support as needed

• Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts. Working under only general direction provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions

• Document and automate processes within the hosting environment

• Provide consulting and support services to identify Weblogic infrastructure operational, monitoring and reporting

• Perform Weblogic related changes following existing change management processes.

• Perform proactive capacity planning, including short term and long-term trend analysis, ensuring all infrastructure components are monitored for capacity and stability

• Demonstrate the ability to time-manage and prioritize, take a proactive approach to improving services, and have an innovative and keen interest in learning new technologies.

• Analyzes user requirements and statistics to identify trends and resolve performance issues

• Define and integrate current best practices (technical, security, process) in server infrastructure solution analysis and definition.

• Coordinate regularly with management on solution plans and status

• Monitors, improves, and updates the performance of the organization's websites.

• Develops and maintains the company's or client's web portal. Performs backups and ensures user accessibility to the site. Monitors site traffic and helps scale site capacity to meet traffic demands and performance expectations.

• Collaborates with management, business units and IT department to determine the website's purpose, functions, requirements and long-term strategy.

• Debugs issues that arise with the performance of the application. Troubleshoots the application, including content, links, order flows, registration flows and transaction logs.

• Researches emerging technologies and services that may enhance the web experience, plans for obsolescence and makes recommendations to management

• Ensure that Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and process documentation is developed and maintained

• Work on tickets, changes, incidents, requests, problems and projects and provide timely customer service

Education and Years of Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of related experience

• Oracle certification is a plus

• System administration experience is a plus

 

Required Skills and Experience:

• 7 years proficiency in managing and adaministering Oracle Weblogic Server 11g

• Strong knowledge in UNIX / Red Hat Linux operating systems

• 1-2 years of project management skills to manage individual projects to complete within timelines

• Strong WebLogic Administration with expertise in Installation, Configuration, Tuning, troubleshooting and Deploying application

• Experience with monitoring tools i.e. Wily, HP-BAC, AppDynamics, Nagios etc.

• Use of WLST, Python and ANT scripting tools to automate and monitor the WebLogic routine tasks

• Experience with JDBC, JMS, WebServices, Security standards, LDAP, SSL

• Experience with HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, Routing, Switching, Clustering, Load balancing, LAN, Oracle Real Application cluster ( RAC)

• Excellent troubleshooting skills

• Analyzes statistics to identify and resolve network problems. Keeps abreast of operational support technologies and industry trends
