Title : Build Engineer /Team Foundation Server (TFS) Admin

Location : Baltimore ,  MD

Duration :   6+ months contract 

Job Description :

Team supports many enterprise services for code-source, testing, and business requirements management tools. This particular role will focus on the administration and support of Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS). Therefore, administration experience with Microsoft TFS and Microsoft Visual Studio is required.

This team handles incidents escalated from lower tiers and uses multiple sources to address incident escalation and investigation. This individual will be assessing and resolving incidents associated with Microsoft TFS. These are complex and highly visible issues that need to be resolved in order to restore normal service operation as quickly as possible to minimize impact. In addition, request fulfillment activities and interaction with developers, project managers, and testers will be required.

• Experience with elevating upgrades, applying patches in production, and working knowledge of databases, networks, and servers is required.

• Candidates should have experience with TFS installations, configuration and administration

• Candidates should have experience in the following areas with TFS:  

o Source control management (including branching, merging, labels, etc)

o Template management and configuration (Agile, CMMI)

o Dashboard and reporting configuration and management

o Automated deployment / builds

• This individual must demonstrate strong communication skills and ability to work with high impact, high visibility incidents.

• Experience in TFS Architecture and design.

• Experience in TFS upgrade/migrations from 2008 to TFS 2010/2012/2013.

• Setting up of projects, provisioning access and maintaining security.

• Managing roles and associated user permissions

• Experience Microsoft Visual Studio is required.

• Experience in performing upgrades i.e installing updates to TFS application.

• Good knowledge on databases.

• Knowledge of SSRS to setup reporting.

• Good knowledge of IIS 7.5/8.0
