Position: Splunk Security Analyst

Location: Raleigh NC

Duration: 10+ month/ Contract

Interview: Phone and Skype

Job Description:

 

The client seeks an Splunk Security Analyst to join the (CISO) security operations team. Candidate must have specific experience using Splunk to identify possible security vulnerabilities or events. Candidate must then be able to track down root cause of these events and work with CIRT team to bring these events to remediation.

 

Required Skills:

• BS/BA in related discipline Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity or a related Math or Science discipline. In addition to 5+ years of experience in any related Information Technology field. Will consider additional related industry experience in lieu of degree.

• Experience with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, specifically Splunk, and security event correlation.

• 2 years Splunk experience, specifically Splunk 6 analytics.

• Proven Security Operation experience, including using Splunk to analyze IDS, IPS, Firewall, Proxy, Server, Middleware and Database logs and events.

• Must have excellent communication skills(written and verbal) and have the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management. Preferred Skills:

• Experience in clustered Enterprise Splunk deployment

• CISSP, Security +, or related information security certification.

• PCI knowledge

• CIRT experience

 

Additional Provisions

• Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.

• Once candidate's resume is approved and interview passed, the agency is responsible for providing drug screening. Failure to submit the drug screening results will delay the security clearance process.

• If a candidate is given an interim clearance, continuation of employment is then based on the candidate receiving a sensitive clearance.

• All candidates must be a US Citizen, have permanent residence status (Green Card), or an H1-B Visa.

• Cannot have more than 6 months cumulative travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)

• All overtime must be pre-approved in writing by the client manager or his/her designated representative.

• Agency will not be reimbursed for overtime charges without previous written authorization. Authorized overtime will be reimbursed at straight time.

• The enforced dress code is business casual, i.e. collared shirt with slacks for men, no skirts above the knee for women.
