Key Responsibilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to provide timely status updates to peers, supervisors and customers.
Proactive, can-do attitude with emphasis on providing the best customer experience through superior VMware design, performance optimization, monitoring, troubleshooting and most importantly, teamwork.
Self-starter that can successfully plan and complete projects, address incidents, and general maintenance tasks simultaneously with little supervision.
Superior troubleshooting covering all VM dependencies including VMWare, storage, networking, and operating systems.
5+ years experience in architecting, installing, configuring, and administering VMware vSphere.
Effectively develop and communicate technical solutions to unique client issues
Design and Architecture discussions with internal and external engineering groups.
Define requirements for vSphere, vCenter, database, client/web applications, and Single Sign-on.
Lead detailed analysis and planning of existing data center resources
Service requirements gathering and documentation in partnership, with both Business leads and design and engineering groups.
Configure host networking and storage
vRealize Operations Manager experience; Create/configure dashboards, reports, and capacity policies
vRealize Automation experience; Create/configure blueprints, automation, and business groups
vRealize Orchestration experience; create/configure workflows
vRealize Configuration Manager experience; Create/configure compliance templates, reports, and compliance management.
Perform installations, patches, upgrades, capacity planning and performance tuning, through approved change management mechanisms
Manage incident tickets to resolution, within SLA and to approved documented standards
Diagnose, monitor and troubleshoot system performance
Maintain and monitor compliance to corporate Security policies
Plan and configure virtual networking, vStandard and vDistributed switches, and polices. Plan and configure vSphere Storage vSphere utilizing VMFS and NFS datastores.
Establish and maintain service levels. Create HA / Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) virtual machine entitlement, resource pools, and migration (vMotion and Storage vMotion). Ability to monitor and troubleshoot.
Diagnose and repair system problems, utilizing tools sets available and working closely with other internal groups / vendor support.
Experience with vendor relationship and negotiation
