Note : Need candidates that have experience testing on oracle database on linux platform.
Needs 3 to 4 years of testing data experience on an oracle database and moving data from one database to another database. Also experience with linux and VM (linux is a VM platform) Also need to ensure that candidates submitted are committed to full filling the duration of the assignment, this is a very critical software that needs to be supported and they need someone committed to the assignment. This is not a typical QA role. It requires hands on experience with Oracle, Linux and VM. Must be able to play around with creating databases and privileges. Test the data quality, so good SQL experience is required. Financial data experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and set-up Oracle database releases on LINUX and Windows platforms
• Proactively work with business analysts, developers and tech support to gather missing product requirements.
• Test software releases by validating requirements, performance and data integrity.
• Understand and test automated delivery of data updates to client databases.
• Review requirements and software design to develop test cases and release hand off instructions.
• Write SQL queries to validate software functions.
• Regression test existing functionality in new releases.
• Maintain full traceability between requirements and test cases by writing detailed test cases. Maintain transparency of work.
• Provide accurate estimates and daily status updates.
• Automate manual test cases to increase productivity. So Perl or some scripting experience is desired.
• Execute manual and automated test cases. Create detailed defect reports in JIRA.
• Provide metrics and status reports
Qualifications:
• BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Prior Oracle testing experience on Linux and VM is necessary.
• Experience testing financial software is a big plus.
• SQL Server experience is desired.
• Must be able to write SQL queries including joins.
• Knowledge of programming concepts is required.
• Experience in Perl, Python or some scripting language is preferred.
• JIRA experience is preferred.
• Good writing and speaking skills are necessary.
• Good understanding of all testing types is necessary.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile and Scrum methodologies is required.
• Must be able to work in team and independently without any supervision at times.
