Location: Richfield, MN
Duration: 1year contract

Project Description:
Best Buy's API team is focused on driving innovative connections between Best Buy and it's development community through its API platform.
This includes exploration of channels and emerging opportunities to sell, schedule, deliver and fulfill what we promise to the customer.
Much of this capability is achieved through the development and use of API technologies and applied use with strategic partners, platforms and more.
We are seeking a Business Analyst to join our team.

Write up Criteria (Q&A needed):
1.      What is your process for identifying new functionality and communicating that to a development team?
2.      What makes a good story?
3.      What three aspects should be considered when facilitating story mapping?
4.      How does a BA ensure that both business and developer needs are met?
5.      Please include work samples if possible.

Define improvements to business processes, assists decision-makers in gathering information to make decisions, helps quality assurance test solutions and products, and may assist user interface design
Look for new approaches to solving the business problem and improvements to the business processes using functionality that would be a part of an API team.
Creation of documentation to address high level requirements (epics), stories and at times task level work including meaningful acceptance criteria.
Story formats will vary from notecards to story managing tools and analyst will need to coordinate and manage both.
Will be key resource for developers for work explanation, answering questions and completing additional analysis as identified during development.
Provide level of abstraction from business changes and coordinate with management to ensure least amount of churn when changes are introduced
Support to other team members to seek out new and/or better sources of data, and new and/or unexpected uses for existing data

Skills Overview:
Critical thinking skills.
Experience working within a close-knit, collaborative team.
Comfort working as a peer member of a high functioning team of responsible, self-motivated individuals.
Story mapping expertise including leading groups through the story mapping process
Story writing expertise including meaningful acceptance criteria
Comfort with shared/collaborative documentation and diagramming tools such as wikis (we use Confluence), Gliffy, JIRA and Google Docs.
Ability to alternate focus between near-term minimally viable product increment and long-term fully-loaded product vision.
Experience and ability to shift focus fluently from one area of focus to another as strategy and timing dictate.
Oriented toward results and problem-solving.
Comfort and experience wearing "multiple hats" – more attachment to results than to any particular title or role.
Flexibility and willingness to tackle a variety of tasks to deliver team outcome
Nice to Have Skills and Abilities:
Ability and propensity to establish and maintain personal connections across Best Buy to deliver results collaboratively.
Experience with APIs and have familiarity with key management.
Experience with mobile applications and reactive design.
Familiarity with Information Architecture and organization of large amounts of content.
