The day-to-day duties of this Senior SQL Server DBA will primarily consist of assisting the rest of the DBA team with SQL Server related issues. Our environment is SQL Server 2008 with some critical but limited work in 2012. The most common tasks for the DBA on a daily basis will be granting access requests, performing code migrations through development pipelines, and assisting with code reviews. At a less day-to-day level this DBA will need to have understanding of:
· Replication set up, monitoring, and tuning
· Performance tuning
· Inter-DB/application communication, specifically with:
o Oracle DB's
o Oracle Fusion Middleware
· Transparent key encryption
· Logical and physical data modeling and updates
· High availability set up, migration, and monitoring for both SQL Server 2008 and 2012
