As part of the Information Security Operations team, the Identity Management Specialist position is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining an Identity and Access Management program. Candidates must have extensive experience in the Oracle Identity and Access Management Suite.

This position works closely with functional and technical representatives from teams across the UMMS IT, Information Security and the University to deliver and support IAM Services.

This position provides expertise in the Oracle Identity and Access Management Suite (e.g., Oracle Identity Manager, Oracle Virtual Directory, Oracle Internet Directory, Oracle Universal Directory, Oracle Access Manager, etc.)

This position may also provide application development services in support of the IAM program;

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of an Identity and Access Management program that ensures the effective management of logical identities across the University;
  • Provide technical support, development and implementation expertise, and leadership in Identity and Access Management Services;
  • Key services include user provisioning, authentication, and access management for University enterprise systems;
  • Serve as a technical expert in collaboration with other UMASS IAM Technical Leads in the installation, configuration, upgrade and day to day management of Identity and Access Management systems;
  • Provide IAM training to create information security awareness and aptitude;
  • Develop and promote secure architecture and solution options for the University working closely with IT and business leadership;
  • Assist in provide direction around aligning existing Active Directory platforms with the Oracle Identity and Access Management Suite;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of information security metrics, measurement criteria and reporting to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Position Objectives (not an exhaustive list)
  • Development of a viable and effective identity management architecture in collaboration with other UMASS campuses;
  • Creation of a project plan that achieves intermediate goals for managing identities by 06/01/15;
  • Drive the successful deployment of existing Identity Management services leveraging the Oracle OIM suite;
  • Implement a Single Sign On (SOS) solution through the Oracle OIM tool where practicable;
  • Leverage the Oracle OIM suite to deploy a robust and effective self-service component for password management; 
  • Ensure integration with existing directory services, messaging and calendaring services;
  • Integrate Identity Management program with existing physical badging systems (Lenel) where practicable;
  • Create regular security metrics and reporting data relative to identity management;
  • Provide regular updates to Sr. Management.
