Title : IT Data Architect
Duration : 12 Months+
Location : Creve Coeur
Interview : Telephone and / OR Skype Interview
Designs and develops IT architecture (integrated process, applications, data and technology) solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. Takes responsibility for technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies. Usually requires 10 to 15 years of previous experience.
Responsibilities:
· Leading innovation by exploring, investigating, recommending, benchmarking and implementing Big Data centric technologies for the platform
· Technical architect and hands-on developer to support data platforms
· Provide creative approaches to educate others on various Data Technologies and a how they can best be leveraged
· Problem solving
Required:
· BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
· At least 6-8 years of overall IT experience
· Experience implementing such No SQL platforms such as Hadoop, Cassandra, MarkLogic etc
· 5+ years hands-on experience with open source software platforms and languages (e.g. Java, Linux, Apache, Perl/Python/PHP) as an application developer
· Good client facing skills, good communication & presentation skills
Preferred
· Knowledge of cloud computing infrastructure (e.g. Amazon Web Services EC2, Elastic MapReduce) and considerations for scalable, distributed systems a plus
· Have made active contributions to open source projects like Apache Hadoop or Cassandra
· Previous experience with high-scale or distributed RDBMS (Teradata, Oracle, etc)
· Extensive experience with data implementations, data storage and distribution
· Excellent understanding of Big Data Analytics platforms and ETL in the context of Big Data
experienced on working with large volume data set
· Experience with VPC adoption
· Have a solid track record of building large scale systems utilizing Big Data Technologies
