JOB DESCRIPTION:
- We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer in our Wilmington, DE office. As a QA agile team member you would work with an agile SCRUM team to do manual testing as well as identifying areas for automation, designing, developing and maintaining automation scripts.
- Testing will be for various application types including Windows Desktop applications, Web Based Applications as well as SOAP and Restful API level testing.
- You will be responsible to develop new automation scripts and / or modifying existing automation scripts / macros developed using various testing tools including (not limited to) Selenium and QTP/UPT and other in-house Automation Frameworks.
- Work as a technical / business subject matter expert for business partners, analysts, programmers and team members to solve complex business problems.
- Individual should have knowledge and experience with distributed systems, web application technologies, web services, and multi-layered architectures.
- Knowledge and experience using Windows tools and utilities - some experience with UNIX/AIX tools is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate as a QA testing team member on an Agile SCRUM team.
- Participate in all agile ceremonies associated with ongoing sprint schedule. Design and execute manual test scripts.
- Provide manual and automation testing estimates. Identify areas for automation based on risk, manual testing requirements, complexity of functionality.
- Design, develop and maintain automation scripts according to the needs of the team and the business.
- Train and mentor other team resources on proper design and implementation of automated testing.
- Works collaboratively with cross functional teams to understand project objectives, gather automation requirements, design automated tests, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable test automation solutions.
- Develop test strategies and effective test automation solutions for upcoming projects. Communicate status to the team, key stakeholders and senior management. Create and implement Test automation Strategies for projects executed in an Agile delivery model.
- Work closely with Application developers, business team and testing team to identify automation requirements in early stage.
- Help extending test coverage along with creating appropriate tools, utilities, and automation scripts that assist in functional testing and to create test data (e.g. creation of excel macros, developing small utilities etc.,).
- Design and Develop test automation artifacts (scripts, functions, scenarios, processes) for simple to complex automated testing situations using various tools (e.g., Selenium / HP QTP/UFT).
- Collects, organizes, and analyzes statistical information from a variety of sources to support high-quality test design .
- Designs, executes, monitors, and troubleshoots HP QTP/UFT automated tests in a variety of situations and conditions. Analyzes statistical results for baselines, trends, and anomalies to facilitate problem solving, application improvements, and reporting.
- Contributes ideas and recommends action based on that analysis.
- Manages automated testing artifacts to ensure proper reuse, versioning, backups, organization and retention.
- • Practice automation development efficiency, maintainability and reusability. Troubleshoot for any problems during automation execution / UAT.
- Understand software quality best practices, test strategy and planning, test case development, test case deployment and execution, test data, defect tracking, and test automation; actively participates in process improvements.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma, GED, equivalent certification or military experience
- At least 5 years' experience in QA Testing
- At least 3 years' experience in automation design & development
- At least 3 years' experience in an Agile development life cycle
- At least 3 years' experience with automation script development
- At least 3 years' experience in test automation tools
- At least 3 years' experience with Selenium frameworks
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering
- 3 years' experience with test methodologies, processes and tools.
- 2 years' experience with development tools
- 2 years' experience with SQL Server
- 2 years' experience with Oracle
- 2 years' experience with scripting tools
