Title: System Analyst (MW and UI)

Location: Bellevue, WA (Need only Locals)

Duration: 6+ months

 

Position Purpose:

Perform detailed analysis and deliver solution design to support functionality enhancement requests to T-Mobile's frontline UI system and interfacing Middleware used by Customer Care and Retail Representatives.  Provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Acts as a liaison between the user community and internal IT resources.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Works with the business areas to create high level scope analysis of the processes/systems impacted and work plan for each project assigned.

·         Interprets, validates and translates business requirements into process / system impacts, and functional requirements / design, in collaboration with architects and developers. Provide technical system design recommendations to meet business and functional requirements

·         Translate business and user requirements into comprehensive functional specification and technical specification documents, that include elements such as:

·         Decision Flow Diagrams

·         Sequence Diagrams

·         Use Cases

·         Service Orchestration/Mappings

·         Define and document system level requirements to support small, medium, or large scale projects and enhancements to the system.

·         Work with Architecture, Development, Middleware, User Experience and Billing teams  to facilitate implementation of required changes to frontline system; support new software releases/deployments as scheduled by company; identify trends in growth in order to take proactive approach toward problem resolution.

·         Analyzes requirements in view of associated business value and process/system capabilities to create solutions options  and recommendations

·         Supports end-to-end tracking from requirements through process/system design, development and testing

·         Facilitates customer roadmap, gap analysis and solution design sessions, ensuring all stakeholders and contributors in business and IT are engaged and heard

·         Provides on call and after hours support as required for production releases.

·         As appropriate, helps identify and assess potential data sources, and other processes/systems that may be impacted with proposed solution

·         Coordinates and/or creates process playbacks and prototype reviews with business owners and internal review team

·         Prepares and updates detailed documentation of business process impact and technical solution  in relevant work repository

·         Proactively identifies and resolves gaps in solution design versus requirements documentation

·         Assist business in leveraging standard process/system capabilities to reduce complexity and customization

·         Assess and communicate project risks to project and team management

·         Research and recommend solution options used by other companies, available within current system capabilities and with future system upgrades

·         Provide proper documentation and guidance to the development teams as functional designs are handed off to ES Development and Delivery group

·         Provides accurate estimates of effort and timelines for completion of assigned tasks.

·         Develops personal expertise in assigned functional processes and systems (T-Mobile and Best Practice)

·         Supports User Acceptance Testing and Quality Assurance Testing as needed

·         Initiates interaction with client to refresh understanding of points of pain and business priorities

·         Initiates and executes initiatives to improve the processes, procedures, and tools utilized by the team.

·         Reviews deliverables and provides input for other analysts.

·         Creates and delivers articulate and effective oral presentations to a variety of audiences, large or small, internal or external.

·         Demonstrates thorough working knowledge of various business process and system modeling tools including: Data Flow Diagrams, Process Models, State Modeling, Process decomposition, and Use Case Scenarios.

·         Working knowledge of:

·         Middleware concepts

·         System architecture concepts

·         Billing system or Customer Care system concepts

 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Provide accurate estimates of effort and timelines for completion of assigned tasks and workload to achieve deliverables and goals, delivering on time and on estimation for small to large projects.

·         Create and deliver articulate and effective oral presentations to a variety of audiences, large or small, internal or external.

·         Regularly convey status to stakeholders and management.

 

Skills/Experience:

·         5 years Software / Business process design experience (process modeling, use case analysis)

·         3 years Requirements / Design Facilitation (creating requirements and functional/technical specifications)

·         2 years Project / Team lead experience

·         5 years formal SDLC experience

·         Solid understanding and experience with integrated software development projects - front end, middle tier, and backend.

·         Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) technologies, middleware, etc...

·         Understanding of multiple operating systems, databases and network technologies

·         Must have strong verbal and written communication skills that include the ability to gain consensus on system design and solutions for project deliverables

·         T-Mobile experience preferred

·         Bachelor's degree in MIS or related field or equivalent work experience
