JOB DESCRIPTION:
Client is looking for a  Virtualization - VMware engineer with experience in engineering designing and implementing VMware data center/server virtualization environments and server infrastructure. This individual will provide expert-level consulting and delivery for data center/server virtualization and server infrastructure project for clients.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science,

Engineering, or similar technical discipline preferred

Must be extremely proficient in VMware vSphere Administration (ESXi 4/5/6)
Experience with VMware Site Recovery Manager, vCloud Director, vCloud Connector, vCenter Operations Manager & vRealize
Experience designing and implementing virtualization infrastructure to support VDI, and application delivery
Experience planning and implementing physical to virtual (P2V) migrations Windows Server 2008-2012 R2 expertise

Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory & Group Policies

Experience scripting in vbscript or PowerShell
Experience managing large / distributed environments
Experience with Windows 2003 to 2012 migrations both P2V and V2V
Experience with Data Center Optimization / Centralization
Solid understanding of SAN technologies (FC, FCOE, iSCSI, NFS, Determining LUN sizes/layout based on IOPS requirements)
Experience designing and implementing VMware distributed switch technology is a plus
Solid documentation, interpersonal and presentation skills
Experience developing technical diagrams with tools such as Microsoft Visio
Provide planning, installing, configuring, and upgrading support for vCenter Server, Horizon View, and VMware ESXi. Plan and configure vSphere networking and storage solutions.
Develop plans for deploying and administering virtual machines and vApps.
Establish and maintain service levels; perform basic troubleshooting; monitor vSphere implementations; and manage vCenter server alarms.
Provide input on data protection, access, authentication control, resource management, monitoring, high availability, fault tolerance, and scalable virtualized infrastructure.
Knowledge or training on VMware and ESX 5.0+ deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
Knowledge or training on blade computing platforms.
Experience with VMware upgrades and maintenance
