JOB DESCRIPTION:
Get ready to join a new, dynamic team deploying a Health Information Exchange (HIE) to serve a patient population in the millions. Your skills and experience will be leveraged to mature a newly installed RHEL multi-node environment running on vSphere and hosted by a top-tier provider. This infrastructure is running an emerging, high-value, system integration solution connecting dozens of systems, processing millions of messages per day and serving users throughout the region. This is your chance to lead and shape the environment to best meet our needs and in turn, to help grow the team.
Primary Responsibilities:
(1) Maintenance of all servers and infrastructure systems.
(2) Responsible for some or all of the following technical areas:
System upgrades and procurement
Infrastructure design and layout
Disaster Recovery design and implementation OS installation and maintenance Maintenance of system tools and applications Support LDAP service Support Development and Operations teams Security and Server hardening; user administration Work with 3rd parties (hosting) to request support and resolve items.
Administer backup routines and recoveries.
Create documentation in form of internal wiki.
Respond to technical inquiries
System performance tuning.
Troubleshoot any reported problems.
Document the configuration of the system and all changes.
Qualifications:
Most importantly, excellent problem skills - especially while working under pressure.
Must know how to independently troubleshoot, triage and identify root causes.
Good English oral and written communication skills Minimum certification on Linux, RHEL, VMWare products desired but not required.
Must have 3+ years hands-on experience with RHEL and VMware vSphere.
2 to 5 years working in a server/system administration environment in a medium-large enterprise Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP and other protocols
2 to 5 years networking experience desired but not required Experience with setup and configuration of Apache, SSL certificate configuration, proxies, and NAT.
Experience with software applications: Postfix, OpenLDAP, storage management Firewall configuration experience a plus.
