6+ Years of IT; 4+ as Data Architect and Senior Data Modeling developer
Technical/Functional Skills:
· 5+ years developing Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse solutions. Understanding of ETL methodologies, Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing principles, approaches, technologies, and architectures including the concepts, designs and usage of data warehouses and data marts.
· 3+ years dimensional data modeling experience. Demonstrated ability to conform data structures across heterogeneous source systems.
· Define data quality standards and processes
· Lead the design of an optimized data flow across a defined scope (project, program, domain, etc)
· Consult and provide data-related input to the "future state architecture" and ongoing architecture improvement
· Define Project deliverables in accordance project standards, process, guidelines and methodologies.
· Educate and communicate with the project team in regards to data standards and processes.
· Serve as the data authority on the Architecture Forum for the given level of scope.
· Work directly with the data modeler to define and manage the Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models and associated metadata that meet business requirements and adhere to architectural standards
· Work directly with the data modeler to analyze and integrate lower-level data models into higher project, program, or domain level data model.
· Develop project strategies for data integration, data interfaces, data acquisition, data creation, data movement/migration/conversion, and data delivery, archive recovery, database and information presentation.
· Project Team System Architect and Domain Architect for data deliverables and adherence to data quality and enterprise information management and protection standards
· Project Steering Committee for quality of the data architecture to meet business requirements
· Information Owner/Steward for data, meta-data and information management and effective data governance processes.
· Must have experience in Erwin Data Modeling
· Teradata utilities knowledge would be a must.
· Development and maintenance of EDW Data Modeling and meta-data
· Conforming and integrating new data sources into data warehouse
· Develop a model driven approach to database releases, subject areas and data integration initiatives. Profile source data and determine volume metrics for source data integration
· Experience in Teradata and Oracle query optimization, logical & physical database design and database fine tuning.
· Experience with various SDLC methodologies
· Working on multiple projects with a high degree of complexity and interdependence
· Collaborate with business units and data owners to successfully implement and maintain an enterprise level business analytics and data warehousing solution.
· Experience in Microsoft SQL Server would be an added advantage
· Highly organized individual with excellent decision making, analytical, problem solving and presentation skills.
· Demonstrated ability to effectively document and present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of the organization
· Excellent written and verbal skills are requisite
NICE TO HAVES:
· Must have extensive 4+ years of hands on technical experience in database design, development and implementation. Complete and familiarity in use of Erwin data modeling tool well versed in Logical and Physical data modeling expertise in various industry standard data modeling tools and utility. Experience in Oracle and Teradata, query optimization and database fine tuning as a DBA.
· Authority to: - Establish and enforce standards to implement the data architecture for a given scope. Identify and deploy data architecture best practices
· Accountability to: - Project Team System Architect and Domain Architect for data deliverables and adherence to data quality and enterprise information management and protection standards
· Project Steering Committee for quality of the data architecture to meet business requirements
· Information Owner/Steward for data, meta-data and information management and effective data governance processes.

Roles and Responsibilities:-
· Ability to develop PL/SQL and UNIX scripts to support release management
· Strong experience in Oracle Database, with extensive design and development work in the following:
· PL/SQL
· SQL Loader
· Packages/Stored Procedures/Functions
· Triggers
· SQL Tuning and Unix scripts for batch processing.
· Extensive experience in implementing and managing best practices in the following:
· Data profiling & analysis
· Data modeling
· Data retrieval and manipulation using SQL.
· Experience of external tables and parallel processing
· Carryout performance tuning, release management activities, db environment build and capacity management, SQL development and best practices.
Must have skills:-
· Preparation of DDL statements to physicalize the approved logical data model and coordinated with application DBA for implementation of the design
· Implementation of database objects such as DDLs, stored procedures, triggers and DML statements in controlled environments
· Physical data model implementation and capacity management
