Job Title: Database Engineer
Location: Van Buren Township, MI
Duration: 7 months Contract
Qualifications/ requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, analytics or a related field, or equivalent years of work experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience with designing, deploying and migrating highly available multi-tiered applications to public cloud providers (AWS and/or Azure preferred)
Minimum of 4 years of experience with deploying, upgrading and administering one or more of the following technologies: middleware (Red Hat JBoss, Wildfly, Apache tomcat, WebLogic),
web (Apache httpd, Microsoft IIS, Nginx, HAProxy, Varnish), and/or messaging (IBM MQ, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ)
Desired Characteristics :
Experience in providing solution architecture in a cloud-based environment for performance, availability, scalability, interoperability, and maintainability
Strong understanding of application and platform security in enterprise environments
Experience with writing and developing SOAP and REST web services
Experience with one or more scripting languages such as Perl, Ruby, Python or Powershell
Working knowledge of client/server applications and relational databases
Working knowledge of application and data integration technologies and patterns
Experience designing high availability and disaster recovery solutions and strategies
Proven track record of delivering excellent results in a fast paced environment
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Change oriented – actively generates process improvements; champions and drives change initiatives
Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
Highly organized and efficient; able to balance competing priorities and execute accordingly
Strong interpersonal skills including written (e.g. documents, Powerpoint), verbal and listening
Strong facilitation and influencing skills
Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills - effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve
