Network Specialist (Local Area/ WiFi) 

San Diego CA 92127

6+ Months


MUST HAVES:

  • Must have MPLS experience (Multiprotocol Label Switching)
  • Cisco or Juniper cert required


Must be strong MPLS, but also someone with extensive Jupiter Networks Junos OS – (JUNOS) experience.  Junos OS is the common language running across our routing, switching, and security devices.


MPLS is a mechanism in high-performance telecommunications networks that directs data from one network node to the next based on short path labels rather than long network addresses, avoiding complex lookups in a routing table.


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and work effectively in weak-matrix environments required. 
  • Experience in the design, implementation, and operations of the following technologies: IP, STP, Trunking, PoE, QoS, VLAN, WiFi/IEEE 802.11, GRE, EAP. 
  • Certification in Cisco or Juniper required, Experience with Juniper network switches and routers desired. 
  • Must be able to draw detailed network designs using Visio

Responsibilities:

  • Network Engineering: Makes operational and tactical decisions that can have million dollars per day ramifications (regulatory compliance and cost of downtime). 
  • While engaged in projects, recommends technology and sourcing strategy to a project manager and senior or principal technologist. 
  • Must be capable of passing comprehensive background screening for access to critical cyber assets.


WAN network engineer 

6+ Months

Monterey Park, CA (near Los Angeles)


Qualifications:

  • Juniper working knowledge is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred with pertinent technical certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP or JNCIE. 
  • 5 years relevant experience is required, 10 years is preferred. 
  • While working on projects, this person should have the ability to lead and advise the project and line management organizations on technology. 
  • Must be able to make intuitive decisions in support to scope, schedule and budget. 
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and work effectively in weak-matrix environments required. 
  • Must be able to demonstrate confidence engaging with technical and non-technical audience.
  • Must have strong communication and documentation skills. 
  • In depth enterprise and service provide/carrier network knowledge and exposure to other IT disciplines is required.
  • Ability to analyze technical and non-technical tradeoffs to make tactical decisions on projects. 
  • Experience in the design, implementation, and operations of the following technologies: IP, MPLS, BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, RSVP-TE, STP, Trunking, QoS, DCE, SLB, TCP, UDP, Virtualized Hosts and Networking Application Study, Service Classification and Mapping, Capacity Management 

Responsibilities: 

  • Network Engineering: - Makes operational and tactical decisions that can have million dollar per day ramifications (regulatory compliance and cost of downtime). 
  • While engaged in projects, recommends technology and sourcing strategy to a project manager and senior or principal technologist. 
  • Must be able to convert business requirements to technical requirements with supporting documentation. 
  • Will be responsible for understanding requirements and producing an executable design. 
  • Change Management responsibilities will include creating the Change Management Record and coordination with various IT Groups to execute all aspects fo the project design. 
  • This individual must be able to work independently with very little immediate supervision and will be required to validate long term vision with the Technical Architect in the Network Engineering Team. 
  • This candidate will participate in engagements that will potentially have exposure to management at the Senior Level. 
  • There will be occasional night and weekend work required. 
  • Must be capable of passing comprehensive background screening for access to critical cyber assets.
