Description
The Architect, Master Data (MD) is responsible for leadership of and ensuring best design around the enterprise master data architecture for all master data domains. The Architect, Master Data provides subject matter expertise applicable to master data modeling and Master Data Management (MDM) technology architecture. This role is responsible for the design and implementation of master data in and between the enterprise transactional and MDM hub applications.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•         Is accountable for delivering the MDM Program and application architecture deliverables.
•         Works with the MD Technology team, Data Owners and Data Stewards and other stakeholder groups, as appropriate, on all new sources of MD for the enterprise (e.g., M&A, etc.).
•         Ensures alignment between functional and non-functional MD business requirements and application architecture.
•         Defines and documents the enterprise data model and data flows/integration for all domains, and ensure coherence across all aspects of the IT architecture framework and underlying MD taxonomies/hierarchies.
•         Manages all requests for changes to the data architecture to support strategic goals.
•         Reviews and works with the MD Technology team, the infrastructure and applications teams, and the EIM Team to present the necessary changes to system configuration and existing infrastructure, and impacts to Reporting/Analytics.
•         Communicates changes to MD design to all impacted internal and external stakeholders, as appropriate.
•         Provides architecture expertise as needed to resolve issues coming from the MDM Operations Council.
•         Other duties may be assigned.
 
COMPETENCIES
•         Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in the following:
o MDM technology design, development and implementation – especially Oracle Master Data Management Hub and Data Steward technologies
o Oracle Trading Community Architecture (TCA) as a standard data model benchmark
o Data Modeling Tools, such as Toad, Oracle SQL Data Modeler, ERwin, etc.
o Documentation for MD flows across the IT landscape
o Development of Business Rules for MD
o Data assessment and analysis, including matching & merging, data cleansing, standardization, augmentation, and enrichment.
•         Familiarity and knowledge with the following MDM-related topics:
o Data integration tools and techniques, such as Extract-Transform-Load (ETL), Change Data Capture (CDC), Oracle Fusion applications, Pub-Sub models, etc.
o Physical data architecture options, such as operational data stores, enterprise data warehouse, data federation, hub and spoke architectures, independent data marts
o Industry knowledge for continuous improvement program evaluation of new MD architecture technologies and approaches.
•         Project / Program Management Skills:
o Ability to understand and communicate the overall MD Architecture strategy and objectives
o Ability to foster positive and effective relationships within IT and across the enterprise
o Ability to create and communicate data models and data flows for the appropriate audience
o Ability to facilitate agreement for global and local Business Rules (BR); create and manage a shared BR repository
o Ability to identify impacts of architecture changes for all areas of the enterprise
o Ability to identify and manage issues
o Ability to clearly define action items, owners of action items, timelines, and accountability
o Ability to perform work planning tasks (aggregate multiple workplans, understand resource needs, etc.).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
•         Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and six (6) years experience in master data architecture; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•         Demonstrated project management experience and success in delivering MD architecture designs for complex environments with multiple operational systems.
