Network Engineer: Marlboroh, MA – 3-6+ months
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Description – Network Engineer:
Operations Assistance:
-Network discovery –are all devices monitored and alerting enabled – provide examples of network discovery techniques used
-Morning Health Checks – provide examples of automation techniques used
-Reviewing PRTG / IPSLA events – thresholds exceeded Netflow changes, QOS violations, etc… - provide examples
-NetMRI follow-ups and (port, conflict, naming) corrections using pre-authorized
-SNAC analysis for IP conflicts
-Review routing tables daily – trunks/uplinks, drops, errors, etc… - provide examples of automation techniques used
-Review TACACS logs daily for changes - provide examples of automation techniques used
-Review all other logs – Sumo Logic, LMS, ISE, DCNM - provide examples of automation techniques used
-Who is connecting on our Wireless network, are they receiving 5 bars, etc… – Cisco Prime – provide examples of leveraging Cisco Prime
-Tier2 Bridge Call person when someone asks “Is the network OK.” – Demonstrate outstanding communication skills and how they are used during a major incident bridge call
ITIL and Gaps:
-Provide example of leveraging ITIL best practices to eliminate reoccurring incidents and problems
-Provide examples of leveraging a Network team to organize and eliminate Incidents and Problems while working to an escalationSLA and ITIL standards
-Provide example of how you manage a Networking queue at an individual level
-Provide trending analysis examples and action plans that you developed
-Provide examples of how you leveraged a tiered escalation model for triaging and eliminating Incidents and Problems
-Provide examples of proactive monitoring techniques of real-time apps using the listed tools
-Determine if any SPOF’s exist in the network
-Confirm that all device configurations backed up and saved
-Confirm that we are currently at GA version of code for all platforms
General:
-Provide detailed examples of how your outstanding organization skills and technical capabilities and leadership have significantly impacted an organization. Documented metrics and examples are a plus.
