QA Lead

Role Description:

Key Responsibilities:


The QA Lead Consultant provides test planning, test script development, test execution, technical leadership\awareness and troubleshooting support for the Motive Customer Project team as part of the ALU Test Augmentation SOW.  The QA Lead Consultant is expected to know and use Jira to communicate and track software problems. The QA Lead Consultant must be add depth and breadth to setting at multiple layers of the test stack (Web Services, Database etcetera)

 

Some specific capabilities:

·        Black box and Grey Box testing

·        Table Driven testing

·        Risk Based testing

·        Experience with test tools

·        Test plan creation/management and seeing it thoroughly executed

·        Strong Oracle knowledge

·        Rest API\WebService and database testing is a must managing of Virtual machines

·        Proficient in a scripting language (javascript\vbscript\ruby\python\perl or any of the jdk variants)

·        Strong SQL writer\database tester

·        Troubleshooting and expeditious resolution of network/test environment issues.

·        Perform Hardware/Platform Testing

 

Qualifications:

·        Must be capable of leading a team and providing a strong QA presence with other teams.

·        Must be able to adequately communicate and support QA project status

·        Must be a quick learner (without formal training), self motivated with outstanding customer interface, communication and advocacy skills.

·        Has a very high aptitude for trouble shooting and problem resolution. Most issues relating to test setup, tools, equipment, facilities, and translations have to be resolved by the QA Technical

·        Consultant working independently.

·        The person is very flexible and is able to quickly adjust course in response to unexpected events or change in priorities.

·        The person enjoys working in a time critical environment and looks at issues as opportunities to add value for the customer, to improve product quality and to learn and grow personally and professionally.

·        The person is able to take direction from Deployment managers, QA leads and effectively perform his/her functions while at the same time supporting project development.

·        The engineer is able to understand the needs of the customer and the intent of the SOW and add value to the customer instead of being limited by the SOW.

 

Knowledge, Experience, Education & Competency: Protocols:

·        Experience with Virtual machine technologies and use in automation

·        Thorough understanding of Jira and issue processing practices.

·        Experience in lab environments and demonstrated ability to bring up platforms, test base and new functionality, and troubleshoot issues on a short fuse to meet customer test schedules.

·        Experience testing on all Windows and Mac platforms.
