Drupal and PHP Developer

Location: Washington DC

Duration: 6+ months

JD:

Pre-production Drupal 7 site that was migrated from Drupal 6. This site is now entering a beta testing period when finishing touches are applied before it is finalized for production release. During this time, the web team will gather input from stakeholders and make changes on the fly.

 

B. SCOPE OF WORK

 Modification of Drupal 7 responsive mobile/desktop theme

Streamlining responsive CSS structure

Enhancement of end-user (web content managers) experience including optimization of Panel usage

 

C. DELIVERABLES/SPECIFIC OUTPUTS EXPECTED FROM CONSULTANT

(Description of the deliverables, delivery schedules, and acceptance criteria for the deliverables)

At the end of the consultancy the website should be technically ready to be pushed online.

While in the process of reviewing and modifying the existing code we expect all the deliverables to be presented in the form of live, working code.

The request-delivery-cycle is expected to be one day long unless agreed otherwise.

Deliverables must be submitted via git version control system.

Deliverables must implement agreed changes live on the agreed site.

 

D. SPECIFIC INPUTS TO BE PRESENTED BY THE CLIENT will specify desired changes. The developer should give a realistic estimation of expected delivery time of the requested changes.

 

SPECIAL TERMS & CONDITIONS / SPECIFIC CRITERIA

The developer must possess the skills and agility to implement requested changes right away so that the client can see and come up with ideas to further improve usability.

Only applications with a portfolio will be considered.

 

Requirements:

·         Minimum of 2 years of experience of Drupal development, and 5 years of experience in related field, specifically in web development area is required.

·         Capable of building APIs that can be used by institutional webmasters to retrieve data from various sources such as projects, documents etc.

·         Must be able to work in git, git-svn on Linux, Mac and Windows environment

·         Demonstrated ability to use rapid application development methodologies and techniques to deploy applications quickly and accurately.

·         Ability to multi-task projects

·         Excellent oral and analytical skills

·         Excellent inter-personal and communication skills

·         Must be able to understand and work with existing code

·         CiviCRM integration experience is a plus

 

Specific Requirements:

·         The Drupal theme must work flawlessly on customized IE9 as well as latest major browsers. 

·         Work independently on the assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

·         Work on multiple tasks and self motivated individuals will fit the role well.

·         Write custom APIs using PHP to retrieve data from institutional sources

·         Develop good quality code using PHP, html, html5, css2,3 etc

·         Install and maintain server products

·         Develop code to integrate various sources

·         Review and have an understanding of institutional data marts and develop APIs to retrieve data.

·         Creation of a fully-functional website based on technical specifications to be provided to him/her

·         Documentation of his work in the project
