Senior Java Software Engineer
Contract Duration: 8-12+
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Minimum Requirements:
· 9+ years of Java programming experience working on low latency, high throughput, globally distributed systems (Low latency is a topic within capital markets, where the proliferation of algorithmic trading requires firms to react to market events faster than the competition to increase profitability of trades).
· Experienced delivering successfully within an Agile environment and the flexibility and adaptability to operate successfully in such an environment
· Messaging frameworks (JMS, MQ, Tibco, 29West etc)
· The ability to face off directly to the business to receive and analyze requirements, and propose a suitable solution that adheres to the team’s methodology
· The ability to communicate at the right level with all parties involved, including senior management and the business, who may be based in different locations and time-zones.
· The ability to take responsibility for a designated system or piece of functionality, and run with it from its inception to completion
· Experience in the investment sector
Experience in following is highly desirable:
Market adaptors (EBS, MAPI, Currenex, Hotspot etc)
•Linux / Bash scripting
•FIX protocol
•Relational databases (Oracle, Sybase)
•Development and build tools (GIT / Subversion / TeamCity / Nexus / Maven etc)
Plus: Java (pure Java, not necessarily J2EE), Rules Engines, SQL/NoSQL, Messaging, Camel, Fuse ESB, Apache ServiceMix and MQ.
Need locals or near by who can go for F2F interview.
