What does a Sr. Java Software Engineer do?
We are in the process of moving our web platform over to a stack based on Chaplin, AngularJS, NodeJS and PHP from our legacy PHP stack that is backed by Java based web services. We are looking for a Java Engineer to help us design, develop and implement JEE based RESTful web services.
What are some of the daily duties of a Sr. Java Software Engineer?
• As part of our development team our Sr. Java Software Engineer will participate in all aspects of the software development process including, requirements, design, coding, unit testing, quality assurance and deployment of RESTful web services to support the our new web applications.
What are the minimum requirements to be a Sr. Java Software Engineer?
• Education requirements – High school diploma or related experience
• A Computer Science degree or relevant experience
• Fluency in design patterns and engineering best practices
• Strong core Java with Java Enterprise Edition Stack (version 6+)
• Knowledge of and experience with writing applications targeted towards JBoss (EAP6+)
• Knowledge of and experience with testing frameworks like JUnit and mocking techniques.
• Very comfortable working in a Maven and Git based environment.
• Strong understanding of Database systems and applications.
What other skills, knowledge, and qualifications are needed to be a Sr. Java Software Engineer?
• Working experience with Hibernate including transaction management, caching and performance tuning.
• Experience developing and testing REST based web services.
• Ability to develop in all tiers (presentation, business and database) of the application.
• Experience in JavaScript and AJAX.
