Description
Senior Software Test Engineer – Online Search and Platform
Primary Objective
Key Responsibilities
• Apply programming and automation skills to test software on cutting edge and growing platforms in Java J2EE
• Design and build mock clients and mock services to test server based software with REST and other XML-based technologies, Hibernate, Spring, and MVC
• Design and build test frameworks for for web application components using HTML/HTML5, XHTML, Javascript and AJAX
• Leverage OO designs and apply working knowledge of design patterns to test presentation, data and business modules
• Collaborate with architects and lead software engineers on design decisions and direction for web application requirements
• Mentor less senior personnel
Contribute to and validate implementation strategies in data modeling, data replication, performance and tuning, database and SQL optimization in the Oracle environment
• Contribute to requirement and design reviews with business partners and other engineers
• Facilitate and fulfill tasks as a member of an agile team, using agile practices (e.g. peer reviews and paired programming, Test Driven Development, daily stand up meetings)
• Client new technologies and techniques and adapt to dynamic business requirements
• Provide input on scripts, applets and automation tools which build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms
• Oversee and drive integration tests for server- and client-side web applications using JUnit and open source testing framework and tools
• Investigate and resolve issues in development, test and production
Key Technologies

Qualifications
· Bachelors Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related software technology field, or demonstrated job experience equating to a Bachelors Degree
· Ability to work in a fast-pace environment
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· 3 years experience in the following technologies to research, evaluate, develop and test using -
· Java J2EE or C#/.NET based application development
· XML parsing using Java or C#/.NET
· IDE & Enterprise Source Code Control tools (e.g. Eclipse or MS Visual Studio & TFS)
· Relational database (e.g. SQL, DB2/Oracle 9 or higher)
· Dynamic HTML, XHTML, HTML5, Javascript, Ajax and CSS
