SENIOR PERL DEVELOPER
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Perl developer. In your role as a senior Perl developer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of an application that will import/export data files of different formats into and out of a SAAS application. This position is coding intensive, and will require the ability to coordinate well with a team as well as show personal initiative and take ownership of individual components of the development. Systems administrative duties would be limited, but would include installation and maintenance of servers and databases, development of deployment and maintenance scripts, and assorted other duties.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6 or more years of experience in real-world Perl development
- 2 or more years' experience with Object-oriented Perl
- 2 or more years MySQL experience
- 2 or more years systems administration in a Unix environment
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written
- Ability to set high-level architectural standards and lead other team members in implementing those standards
- Set best practices for the software development process: coding standards, testing, change management, build automation, release planning and deployment.
- Advocate for new technologies and techniques
PLUS:
- Object-oriented Perl
- Rose::DB, Moose
- DBI interface
- MySQL
- Linux/Unix development environment
- Subversion (or other version control systems)
- Test-driven development
- Agile methodologies
- Perl Best Practices
TOP 3-5 MUST HAVE SKILLS:
- 6 or more years of experience in real-world Perl development
- 2 or more years' experience with Object-oriented Perl
- 3 or more years MySQL experience
